Some conferences: Chicago (MPSA), London (BISA) and Cornell

4/21/2015

Travel and conferences play a relevant role in the academic life. Just came back from a 3-weeks period of visiting at the Zentrum für Militärgeschichte und Sozialwissenschaften der Bundeswehr (Bundeswehr Centre for Military History and Social Science), Potsdam. I've worked on the military transformation occurred in the post-Cold War German Defense. I'm also interested in a comparison between Italian and German Defence policy. I hope to public some stuff soon.

My co-author, Francesco N. Moro, has just presented our paper ("How military organizations learn?") at the MPSA Annual Conference (Chicago, 15-19 April).

In June I'll present the paper “The Limits of Radical Parties in Coalition Foreign Policy: Italy, Hijacking, and the Extremity Hypothesis”, (with J.Davidson) at the next BISA Conference (London, 16-19 June 2015). The paper has been recently accepted for publication by Foreign Policy Analysis.

Finally I'll be in Cornell in June for the conference  "Italy from Crisis to Crisis: Politics, Economics and Security in the 21st Centrury" (organized by M. Evangelista and S. Tarrow, 11-12 June). I'll present a paper on the evolution o the Italian defense ("Running in chains. The transformation of Italian defense policy”)
