Fabrizio COTICCHIA is Full Professor of Political Science at the University of Genoa. He graduated in Political Science at the University of Florence. He held a Master’s degree in International Relations (University of Bologna) and he worked at the Peace Research Institute in Frankfurt. He obtained a PhD in Political Systems and Institutional Change at the IMT – Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies. Since 2004 he has evaluated for the Scuola Sant’Anna projects and programmes of decentralised and international cooperation in the fields of emergency, reconstruction and development, peace, disability, health. He undertaken several field missions in Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe. He has been research fellow in international relations at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (2009-2014). He has been Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence (2014-15). His fields of research are foreign policy analysis, contemporary warfare, strategic culture, political parties and foreign policy, public opinion and military operations, Italian and European defence policy, intelligence, development cooperation. He holds postgraduate courses on security studies, foreign policy analysis, comparative politics, and the EU political system. He provides pre-deployment courses and seminars for Italian military and security forces.
